The much anticipated TMNM game show, one of its kind ever to be witnessed in the country kicks off tomorrow at EABL headquarters in Ruaraka.

FIRST EVER UGANDAN MOVIE TO PREMIERE ON GTV
Get ready for two thrilling movies from Uganda and Nigeria premiering on G-Africa this month!
Kiwani, is perhaps the greatest movie ever to come out of Uganda. It is a gripping film about two conmen operating in Kampala. Such a strong film should be celebrated by Ugandans and Africans alike and will be broadcast on Uganda’s Independence Day, Thursday, October 9 at 14:00 GMT on G Africa.
The star-studded movie, directed by Henry Ssali, follows the lives of ‘bafele’ – or conmen – Kaggwa, played by Hannington Bugingo, and his junior accomplice Mwesigye, played by Allan Tumusiime, who lie and cheat their way into people’s lives with sophisticated scams and shady deals in order to con them out of money.
Tangled up in the story is a group of women who meet Mwesigye and like the idea of winning a rich, young husband. They are keen to date the thief when he tells them he is a successful business man, but he is not interested in a relationship. Instead he prays on one of their older aunts and eventually steals from her. Gripping stuff!
However, before long the police catch up with him for the theft and he is thrown in jail. The only way he can be freed is if his friend and partner-in-crime, Kaggwa, posts bail but when Kaggwa tries to pay the charge he realizes the police officer heading up the case is one of his past victims.
On October 15th and 16th, GTV will be premiering both installments of director Ebere Onwu’s Saviour, another gripping movie to be shown on G-Africa.
The dark film follows the life of Eric who returns home to Nigeria after a long period of studying abroad. As he prepares to settle down and marry his childhood sweetheart, tragedy strikes and jolts the tranquility of Eric’s family. As events spiral out of control a saviour is needed to stem the tidal wave of destruction.
Starring Rita Dominic, Chioma Chukwuka and Chidi Mokeme, this brilliant film will keep you on the edge of your seat - it‘s not to be missed!
- Kiwani will air on GAfrica on Thursday 9th October at 14:00 and 19:20 (GMT)
- Parts 1 and 2 of Saviour will air on GAfrica on Wednesday/Thursday 15th/16th October

“Hi, Im an avid reader of your ‘Word Is’ segment and yep just read the segment on Luciano's nephew beating up Sista Lucy, well i beg to differ with the article..you were a little mis informed about what went down.for your information this so called Sista Lucy is a well known Groupie..i mean this woman is a nutt case, she always manages to get wind of all the reggea artists coming ,their hotels and all hell will break loose.I dont exactly go for the Reggea concerts but i have a few of my boys you have told me enough stuff about her.Apparently this chick all over sudden will demand that no mama comes close to em,act like their galfriend and this particular night twas no different. My channel O pals were tryna take pictures with Ragga locks and she came right infront of the guy who wa tyrna take it n was like no you aint taking it with my man...since when!the dude(Ragga locks just came in on Thursday?)and hes already Sista lucy's man?Ragga tried being polite, told her to move but being the physho she is clearly the dude had to do what he had to do pushed her away!i aint the beat up the chick kinda woman but this woman deserved it!shes an embarrasment to the Kenyan women!
Luciano wasnt amused either he was mad at the woman,e said she was being a bother so you can inmagine the number of Reggea artists who have left singing the same tune....thumbs down for sista lucy.,or is it groupie nutty lucy...lol”

TREVOR NELSON TO HOST THE MAMA'S
Urban music legend and king of the airwaves Trevor Nelson has been confirmed as the host of the first ever MTV Africa Music Awards with Zain (MAMA). The MOBO-winning DJ and TV presenter will preside over the glittering music awards ceremony taking place at The Velodrome, Abuja, Nigeria on 22 November 2008.
Known as ‘godfather of urbantainment’ Nelson has become a household name after more than a decade of championing urban, club and experimental music on radio and TV, including MTV’s seminal urban music chat show, The Lick and BBC3’s The Lowdown. A goldmine of information on everything to do with hip hop, R&B, dancehall, soul and other urban genres, Nelson’s Saturday night Radio 1 show is a regular fixture with the biggest urban stars on the planet, with Trevor regularly welcoming artists such as Rihanna, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Lemar, Kelly Rowland and Will I Am into his studio. Trevor currently hosts two further radio shows for the BBC - the weekly breakfast show for 1Xtra and a Wednesday night soul music show for Radio2.
‘This is just a dream gig for me,’ commented Nelson. “The MTV Africa Music Awards with Zain puts the spotlight on the kind of music I’ve championed all my life. The energy, passion and talent of the African music scene is off the scale and I can’t wait to get to Nigeria on 22 November to see Africa’s finest artists showing the world what they can do.”
A precocious Nelson began DJ-ing at an early age but his big-time career really kicked off when the young entrepreneur started up the Madhatter sound system, putting on warehouse parties in London. DJ-ing the graveyard shift on then pirate station Kiss FM in London led to a daytime slot and a directorship once the radio station went legit. Continuing his heavy DJ schedule, Nelson made a name for himself at the infamous Soul II Soul Sunday night jam at the Africa Centre.
After 10 years with Kiss FM, 1996 saw Trevor make the move over to Radio 1 to present Rhythm Nation. Within a year he began a second show on Saturday afternoons and currently hosts the live Saturday evening slot from 19:00 BST every weekend.
Nelson continues to DJ across the UK and around the world and this summer enjoyed his sixth season at Ibiza’s Pacha nightclub. He is a veteran presenter with many high profile events under his belt including the MOBOs and the Prince's Trust Urban Music Festival, and has hosted the ‘red carpet show’ at the MTV Europe Music Awards for the past three years. Nelson has also released a number of successful compilation albums including Pure Grooves and INCredible Sound Of Trevor Nelson.
Commented Alex Okosi, Senior Vice President & Managing Director, MTV Networks Africa, ‘Trevor’s love and infectious enthusiasm for urban music in all its rich variety makes him the perfect choice to host the MTV Africa Music Awards.’
The MTV Africa Music Awards with Zain takes place at The Velodrome, Abuja, on Saturday, 22 November 2008 and broadcasts on MTV base (DStv Channel 322, GTV), partner networks and terrestrial channels STV (Nigeria), AIT (Nigeria), NTV (Kenya), WBS (Uganda), TV3 (Ghana), TBC (Tanzania) and RTGA (Democratic Republic of the Congo) from 29 November 2008.
To vote for your favourite artist or video, please go to mama.mtvbase.com. Music fans with WAP/GPRS enabled phones may also vote at m.mama.mtvbase.com (standard internet charges apply). Voting closes on Tuesday 18 November 2008.

Just after being announced as a 2008 Kisima Award nominee in the Male Gospel Artist Of The Year Category, Bantu, who is based in the Coast has launched his company known as BUCC!(Bantu Urban Clothing Company)
The company which designs clothes and prints t-shirts is now a market sale place with his work going as the client comes to get it. The company which is located in town is now a booming business joint especially for fellow artists. The company was launched to the public on the 12th of October at the Milele Beach Hotel under low key.
"I decided to put my talent to use instead of just seating down and relying on music to feed me," he said when he was launching the product. "We are so reasonable to the common mwanainchi, you will think the sale is to good to be true. We do custom made or if you like what you see, we do it."
Currently, members of the Intimacy Team & DJ Lenium have signed him up as their designer. Bantu who is not knew to awards says he hopes the company will enable the media to show that artists not only rely on music to eat.
Bantu was a 2006 Impact Award Winner for Best Male Artist of The Year & 2008 Nzumari Award Winner for Best Male Gospel Artist of The Year. He has been nominated for a Male Gospel Artist Of The Year Award against one of his favorite artist: A-Star, Jimmy Gait & Ben Githae who he is doing a collabo with this month.

JITU FILMS CREW
Starring: Boniface Loppoh, Helena Waithera. Samuel Odoyo, Lydia Gitachu, Joseph Kinuthia, Evelyn Kahungu, Alexandros Konstantaras, Thomas Tsaparas, Chihuahua
Director: Billy Mbilikimo
Synopsis
Two mafia boyz (Alexandros Konstantaras and Thomas Tsaparas) take a forced holiday in Kenya, lying low while trouble blows over at home. With local contact, crook and gigolo Odongo (Sam Odoyo), the boyz set up R2 security and are employed to protect Odongo's new wife (Evelyn Kahungu) and wealthy step family.
Sidelined son Alex (Boniface Loppoh), who loathes his new step father, becomes suspicious that the R2 are not only there to offer security but are running some mysterious business…Things get worse for Alex when he falls for his stepfather's 'bad girl' assistant (Lydia Gitachu) while his beautiful sister (Helena Waithera) falls for one of the R2 hoods.
Challenges
The main challenges we had during the production of that film were: to find nice locations with swimming pools and big gardens, controlling fairly big crowds of people in particular scenes (wedding, swimming pool parties etc), gathering lots of girls to play as extras wearing only bikinis and struggling keeping the continuity of the scenes. The opening of the film had to be done out of the country in Europe (Greece) in order to give more authenticity to the film.
Quotes
Helena Waithera who acted on the film as the beautiful Jean who falls in love with one of the R2 hoods says about her experience " One of my greatest acting experiences, the actors were all well casted, everybody exhibited their roles perfectly, in general it was a fun shoot. I'm also looking forward to feature in part 2 of the film."
Boniface Loppoh who also acted in the film as the son of the family Alex who gets suspicious of the R2 Security says " Ive never acted in such a level but this film gave me an opportunity to explore some hidden talent I never knew I had. It also gave me the chance to brush shoulders with more experienced actors like Lydia Gitachu and Omosh from Tahidi High."

Fighting Poverty, Y'al
World Health Organization humanitarian experts from throughout Africa have met here to decide on how best to respond to ongoing and future health emergencies, such as disease outbreaks, flooding and malnutrition.
About 50 participants from all WHO African region countries facing health crises have participated in the annual review of WHO's Emergency and Humanitarian Action (EHA) programme, which is the most important meeting for the organization's health crisis team on the continent.
Most of the world's humanitarian crises are occurring on the African continent, affecting the health of millions of people, including children, and requiring intensive efforts not just to respond to emergencies but to either prevent them from happening or be properly prepared for when they do. In 2008 alone, more than 95% of African countries have experienced a humanitarian crisis.
"WHO has proven that it is a crucial player in terms of humanitarian health response during crises and emergencies on the African continent," said Dr Omar Khatib, African regional adviser for EHA. "But by working with other WHO units, we must continue to strengthen our capacities and hone our skills to be able to meet persistent and future emergencies, such as annual flooding and drought, communicable disease control and malnutrition related to the global food security crisis."
Improving how countries prepare for recurrent disasters, such as flooding that impacts on hundreds of thousands every year in many countries, was a key focus of the Zanzibar meeting.
"If we can continue to improve how countries in Africa prepare for and respond to disasters, the health of millions of people will be improved and secured," Dr Khatib said. "We see many examples of this throughout Africa, where WHO and our UN and NGO partners are working closely with governments to improve how they immunize children against polio, measles and meningitis, and strengthen health systems through acquiring equipment and medicines and training national health staff."
Attending the meeting were WHO humanitarian experts from Cote d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Central African Republic, Burundi, Guinea, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola, Liberia, Kenya, Niger, Chad, Madagascar, Botswana, Rwanda, Mozambique, Gabon, Burkina Faso, Congo and Algeria. Members of the Health Action in Crises cluster from WHO headquarters in Geneva also participated in the weeklong meeting.
"This meeting has identified ways to further strengthen the way national health systems can function during and after a crisis," Dr Khatib said. "Our goal as humanitarians is to reduce avoidable suffering and death. To do so we must keep improving the way in which we work with countries, help countries to strengthen their capacities and build stronger ties with the donor community to ensure they continue their valuable support to alleviating the health problems faced by millions of Africans."
