CECE WINANS IN KENYA FOR GOSPEL CONCERT
Five time Grammy award winner CeCe Winans is expected in Nairobi this month for her debut performance in Kenya.
The American Gospel Artiste, accompanied by her band, will perform on November 19, at the Bomas of Kenya in a concert sponsored by integrated communications solutions provider Orange, the Standard Group and Flame Entertainment.
Orange Head of Corporate Affairs Angela Mumo said they are sponsoring the concert to provide Kenyans an opportunity to enjoy the music by CeCe who has also won 18 Dove Awards and numerous Stellar Awards.
“The Orange brand is known globally for its warmth and fun, and that’s why we are sponsoring this concert because we have noted that CeCe’s performance is consistent with the attributes of the Orange brand”, said Mumo.
Mumo added that Orange has a long term commitment towards music and culture- and this bolstered their decision to support the concert.
Orange being the top tier sponsor for the event will cater for the air tickets and hospitality for the 46-year-old CeCe, and her team flying in from Ghana where she will be performing on November 17.
She began her solo career in 1995 with the album Alone In His Presence, which earned her a Grammy Award and has up till 2008 produced seven albums, authored three books and has made a mark as a philanthropist and talk show host.
Her music features other gospel greats such as her brother Bebe Winans and Fred Hammond. She has also performed alongside Whitney Houston, Patti LaBelle and Vince Gill among others, in her music career spanning over 15 years.
