JIGGER BOSS NOMINATED FOR AFRICAN INTERNATIONAL ACHIEVERS AWARDS



The fight to eradicate jiggers in Kenya has been given a pat on the back. The anti-jigger campaign director Dr Stanley Kamau is one of the nominees for the African International Achievers [AfIA] Awards.
Stanley, is one of the shortlisted honourees for the award ceremony that will take place on May 27.



The honourees will be feted for their work in trying to address the United Nations Millennium Development Goals 2015 initiative in their respective communities or work on the theme “Africa 2015 and Beyond” during a ceremony at the Hilton Hotel Bradford, United Kingdom.



According to the invitation letter, “Dr Stanley Kamau Maina may be presented with a trophy and a certificate on behalf of the organisation he represents. The winners will be selected from a large number of nominations submitted by a cross section of people and organisations from the United Kingdom, Europe, Africa, and USA.” Stanley is in contention for the honouree of the Education for All Award title.
The anti-jigger campaign is supported by a list of goodwill ambassadors like Cecilia Mwangi, Jalang'o, Otos and the reigning Miss World Kenya Natasha Metto.




Recently, the Ahadi Trust CEO and the celebrity ambassadors were awarded by the Universal Peace Federation for their work in the field.
Stanley was awarded the Ambassadors for Peace in Africa awards together with other high ranking government officials like Attorney General Amos Wako, House Speaker Kenneth Marende, High Court judge Kalpan Rawal and the anti-corruption tsar Dr Patrick Lumumba.
