DJ SOXXY’S WEDDING IN THE WILD
Gospel DJ Soxxy wed his longtime girlfriend Anne Wanjiku Waichigo on Saturday, June 18 at a garden ceremony held at the Nairobi National Park.
The Kubamba TV show host, spiced up his ceremony by not only choosing an exotic venue in the middle of the park but also opting for an Indian theme. The groom and his men were clad in Indian wear and so was the best maid, Deborah Ross who is married to DJ Moz who was also the best man.
The bride, had a 'dot' in the middle of their forehead, that Indians call the Kum Kum or bindi. It is traditionally worn by a bride. The groom wore a gold sherwani - a long coat-like jacket fastened with buttons. This jacket is often worn for weddings, especially those in the morning. The sherwani was worn with tighter fitting pants or trousers called churidars.
The Indian theme also reflected in the design of the wedding cake that had the traditional Indian footwear.
The small and intimate wedding was by invite only and was attended by close family and friends of the newlyweds. Some of the gospel artistes who attended the function included fellow TV host Kambua, boy group BMF, MOG’s Tony, DJ Krowbar among others.
