Kenyan born Liza Mucheru-Wisner is among the 16 contestants competing for a six-figure job with American business tycoon Donald Trump, in the 10th season of the reality TV series set to premiere September 16.
Trump, the show’s executive producer, has shifted the show’s focus to rewards aimed at improving the lives of the competitors, including one-on-one meetings with well-known business executives, according to NBC’s website.
Liz's business venture fell victim to the recession and she is struggling to make it a success. She seeks to expand her computer education company.
"Each of this season’s 16 contestants has been hit hard by the economy and they are fighting back; fighting for a chance to rebuild their careers and for one savvy contestant, the career opportunity of a lifetime -- to come and work for me. They have nothing to lose and everything to gain!" said Trump.
Liz left Kenyan on a golf scholarship to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, where she received a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master’s degree in education. Wisner also works full time as an associate director of a graduate student retention program at A&M-Corpus Christi.
