Penya Africa-signed act Stan relaunched his debut album dubbed Kenya Debut at the Alliance Francaise gardens in Nairobi on January 26.
The 15-track album showcases Stan’s eclectic and unique feel. If it’s love stories, pain or joy, the way he delivers his musical message allows us all to relate to the urban tales spun in the album.
Kenya Debut is made of various music styles from soul and jazz to reggae and funk. Stan was musically inspired at a very early age through the records played by his grandmother and his aunt’s singing. He came across the Eastlands-based Penya Label/studio in Buru Buru and went on to work with the in-house producer Wawesh on Kenya Debut.
Stan took the stage at 9pm and went on to thrill the fans at the venue with his singles like Zion, Raindrops and Gachungwa. His labelmates were present at the relaunch to show their support. They included Sauti Sol members and Dela Maranga.
