The Presenter Judge Salim Amin wins three international awards



Salim Amin the chairman of A24 received the African Achievers Award at the just concluded international media summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Most recently Salim who a couple of years ago made a film about his famous father Mo Amin has been appearing one of the judges in the KTN reality show, The Presenter.
On winning Salim said, “this is a great honour for me, as it acknowledges the hard work that the team at A24 Media is doing to transform perceptions of Africa in the international arena by enabling Africans to tell their stories their way on an international platform.”
Salim was also last week accorded both the International Dean’s Award and the Kappa Tau Alpha Outstanding Service Award for the Will Owen Jones chapter at his alma mater the University of Nebraska Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications. The award ceremonies recognise those who have excelled in the field of journalism.
Salim is clearly on a roll. Speaking after receiving these awards, he said that “It is not only a great encouragement in our drive to tell the African story but also a powerful indication that the world is listening and is hungry for the stories we are offering. Africa is news, whether you’re in Nebraska or Nairobi, and we are here to get that news out to the people who seek a more rounded, authentic view of the continent.”
