Ambassador’s departure won’t stop the music

The promoter and event organiser of the annual Kikwetu cultural festival of Kenyan pop music, Dan Odhiambo has said that the festival would not end just because it’s biggest supporter the German Ambassador to Kenya Walter Lindner was leaving.
Dan, who is also the promoter who brought in P Square and recently hosted the Shangilia Women’s Festival, said on Sunday, “We already have other sponsors for the upcoming events, Kikwetu will continue.”
Tomorrow, Lindner who formed a band Mystique Fusion with local musicians will bring down the curtain with his final performance in the third series of the festival. Kikwetu III concert will be held at the Kenya National Theatre at 7:30 pm. The emcees will be Seanice and Fareed who will introduce the acts for the night including Hellon and the Black Keys Band, Danger and the Funk Unit, Aaron Rimbui and Isaac Muganda. The gate charges are Sh1,500 and tickets will only be sold in advance.
