South African State prosecutor Letabo Mashiane said the three men convicted of killing the reggae superstar Lucky Dube, Sifiso Mhlanga, Julius Gxowa and Mbuti Mabe, have denied the world an opportunity to know why they killed Dube.
He said: “Unless one of them decides to speak, we will never know the truth, from their point of view, of what happened on the night and why they killed Lucky Dube.”
Mashiane suspects that they are trying to protect a third party.
Dube was killed during a botched hijacking on October 18 2007 while he was dropping off his children at his brother’s house in Rosettenville in Jozi.
